The ones who care beyond compare.

Spanning multiple cultures, generations, educational backgrounds and areas of medical expertise, our multilingual team delivers care that’s as human as care gets.

Edward "Ed" Clearwater DPT

Director of Rehabilitation

Ed received his Bachelor of Science in Clinical Science and a Minor in Psychology from Ithaca College in 2004 and then received his Doctorate of Physical Therapy from Dominican College in 2009. Ed has been in healthcare for 8 years. Ed loves working at New Paltz Center because of “the interdisciplinary approach to patient care and working as a team to improve quality of care and patient outcomes.” Everyone at New Paltz loves working with Ed because he is able to seamlessly mix running a rehab department that benefits all of his residents, his contagious sense of humor and his constantly giving credit to his staff and never taking successes with patients for himself. In his spare time, Ed enjoys hiking, mountain biking, and snowboarding.

Knowledge is health.

For the absolute highest quality of care, New Paltz Center staffs medical providers on each unit who stay in constant communication with leadership throughout the day. Team collaboration is our forte, and this commitment helps us maintain an unbeatable continuum of care.

Our team also works hard to keep therapies as consistent as possible, tracking all communications through an advanced electronic medical record system. This ensures immediate transmission of information across the entire care network.

We are aware of the Governor’s new guidance regarding nursing home visitors. We are as excited as you are to welcome you all back to our facility but need to ensure that we do so safely and in keeping with the guidelines outlined in the Governor’s letter.

It is important to note that per the Governor’s guidelines we will not be permitted to open up to visitors until 5 days from the date of this notice at the earliest. In addition to this timing requirement, the Department of Health must also first approve our individualized reopening plan before allowing visitors.

We will be updating the website with more information as it becomes available. Please click here for the complete New York Sate guidelines.

Thank you for your understanding and patience.
